About the Position

Sound Truck & Auto Repair is currently seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Heavy Duty Technicians at our Bellingham, WA location. We are looking for professionals who are honest, dependable, and passionate about delivering top-notch service to our customers.

The Heavy Duty Technician plays a critical role in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This is a hands-on position requiring mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. Technicians will work on engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulics, suspensions, and other essential components. While experience is preferred, we welcome applicants who demonstrate a solid work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to follow detailed instructions under the guidance of senior technicians.

Heavy Duty Technician Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspensions, and hydraulics
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
• Complete work orders with precision, accuracy, and detailed documentation
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability
• Collaborate with team members and maintain clear communication with service advisors and customers

Applicant Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience
• Recipients of a high school diploma or GED
• In possession of a valid driver's license
• Familiar with multiple makes and models of vehicles
• Dependable, honest and organized
• Ability to receive instruction and to follow procedures
• Some or limited training in automotive repair, and committed to keeping up-to-date on automotive knowledge
• Some experience in vehicle maintenance, including the use of tools
